On June 27, 2024, Steve will give an updated version of his seminar, "Administration of Small, Uncontested Decedent Estates in Cook County, Illinois in 2024." This production introduces administration basics to attorneys who are not experienced with Decedent Estates.  The presentation and all materials will be online and available for free.  CVLS volunteers may view the seminar for 1 hour of CLE credit. Others are encouraged to explore this for a deeper insight into what a lawyer must do to assist a representative of a Decedent Estate.

Since June 23, 2020, the Cook County Court's Probate Division has been coordinating Court appearances by the Zoom videoconference platform.  While this shift was due to the pandemic, this Court has indicated that almost all Cook County Probate Court appearances will continue to be through Zoom for the foreseeable future.  Instructions for attending Court by telephone or by Zoom videoconference can be found here.  If you know the name of the Judge, or the Calendar number, to which your case has been assigned, you can find a link to the Zoom videoconference here
